We may be a little biased…but what can we say, we LOVE working at TJA.
1. The Camaraderie
2. The Culture
Our people are what make our culture. Our culture is what makes us different. We play off of each other’s creative talents and incorrect quote usage. We’re here because we love what we do, we enjoy and appreciate our clients, and yeah, we really do like each other (you work here, you get a nickname – end of story).
3. Boss Lady
Veronique James aka V aka Boss Lady, kickstarted The James Agency, back in 2005, as a one-woman show out of her living room. Needless to say…TJA has come quite a ways over the past 10 years.
4. The People
We’re more than just a bunch of people who have to share an office…we’re a family. There is no job too big or too small that any of us wouldn’t do. We’re there for each other through the good, the bad and the bizarre.
5. Team Builds
Our team is our foundation, and in order to strengthen that foundation we need to let loose every once in a while. Our team building events give us the opportunity to bond in a way that being stuck in an office all day can’t.
6. No Micromanaging
Tina Fey said, “In most cases being a good boss means hiring talented people and then getting out of their way.” This is definitely true of TJA. You won’t find a speck of micromanaging happening here, but Boss Lady’s door is always open for guidance and insight.
7. Massage Day
Wellness Wednesdays are definitely an office favorite. A good rub down by Nancy makes us TJAers feel like brand new people…with better posture.
8. The Talent
Not to brag or anything…but how great is our award wall? We’re pretty proud of what we’ve accomplished so far this year…two ADDYs, six Spectrum Awards, a Silver and Bronze Stevie Award, and Boss Lady was named as one of the most influential women in Arizona Business.
9. The Flexibility
There is absolutely nothing better than having a boss that is completely understanding of the fact that sometimes stuff just happens. Your nanny calls you last minute to let you know that she’s sick? You get a flat tire on your way to the office? You have to take your dog in for an emergency vet visit? No problem man. Just let Boss Lady know what’s up and be sure to get done what you need to when you can.
10. The Support
Work related or not, TJAers support each other through everything.
11. The Lack of Egos
House Rule #7. This one is easier said than done for a lot of people. But we TJAers are pretty darn good at sticking to it.
12. The Clients
Our clients are just as much a part of the TJA family as our team members. We wouldn’t be where we are without them. (Click here to see a complete list of our past & present clients: https://thejamesagency.com/#all)
13. The Fun
What’s work without a little friendly competition amongst friends? At TJA we love what we do, but sometimes we need to step away from our computers and toss some bags around.
14. Jillian’s Sneeze Attacks
But really…they’re adorable.
15. Jib Jabs
Jibberish: The native language of our beloved senior project manager, Julie aka Jibs. Jibberish is the adaptation of classic American sayings (e.g. “I’ll believe that when turtles fly” translates to “I’ll believe that when pigs fly”).
16. Fully stocked snack corner…especially the tequila.
Designing logos, crafting the perfect copy for a new website, scheduling TV segments…it all can be very exhausting. Which is why Boss Lady keeps the TJA kitchen stocked with delicious brain food…and tequila for those days that are especially rough.
17. Jayne the Booze Fairy
Nothing says Friday afternoon at TJA like Jayne coming around with everything you need to make the perfect margarita.
18. Everyone’s Opinion Matters
Every person who sets foot into TJA has an opinion. And guess what…every single one of those opinions is heard and respected by everyone at the agency.
